Configuring a PHN Portal with an Xfinity Router

Xfinity provides gateway routers that manage internet access for your property. This guide walks you through configuring your Xfinity router to work with PHN Portal, enabling a branded captive portal experience for your guests.


Step-by-Step Setup Instructions

Part 1: Connect the PHN Portal

If you haven't already connected and powered on your PHN Portal device, follow the instructions in Connecting Your PHN Portal for the First Time, then return here once the status light is green.

Part 2: Enable the Router Admin Tool

1. Open the Xfinity App

  • On your mobile device, open the Xfinity app
  • Navigate to WiFi
  • Select View WiFi equipment
  • Tap Advanced settings
  • Enable Allow Admin Tool access

Part 3: Configure the Router

2. Sign In to the Router Admin Tool

  • Open a browser and go to 10.0.0.1
  • Sign in with username: admin
  • Use the password printed on the label on the bottom of your router

3. Configure IPv6 Settings

  • In the left side menu, navigate to Connection > Local IP Network
  • Scroll to the IPv6 section
  • Uncheck the box labeled Stateful (Use Dhcp Server)
  • Click SAVE SETTINGS

✅ Setup Complete: Your PHN Portal is now configured and ready to provide a captive portal experience to guests on your Xfinity network.
